Corrosion Under Support

The problem:
The areas where pipelines rest on support areas are often more prone to corrosion.

It is expensive to inspect support areas due to difficult access or lifting of pipe support.

The solution:
Dacon’s ultrasound method for thickness measurement of support areas: Corrosion Under Support.

The method is based on the TOF principle (Time of Flight).

Dacon’s apparatus and software enable detection of indications with an accuracy of +/- 0.3mm in support areas.

The method measures the lowest wall thickness between two ultrasonic probes. The probes are attached to the pipe by a magnet to the pipe, either along or across the pipe
